Well, we all got up hours before my usual rising time and arrived early doors at Ramsey, capital of nowhere-land, where it started raining. Coffee, with some doom and gloom. But the rain stopped and largely stayed away, so, just a cool northerly wind to make those long par threes even longer. Stephen and I dovetailed well to be all square after ten, then their Captain Colin woke up and strung pars and a birdie together to put us three down. We fought back from dormie 3 and then pars on 18 were enough for us to lose 1 down.
Congratulations to David & Ron and Mike & Paul, who posted wins, and Clive for NTP, while Bill & Mark and Pete & Mike secured halved games. Overall, losing 5-3 was respectable.
The fish pie for £20 was, well, fish in sauce with mash on top. The cheesecake was nice.
Next year, I am glad to report, the fixtures are to be reversed, so Ramsey come to us in April and we play there in June or July. So we might see a drier, speedier Ramsey.
